1587, The execution of Mary, Queen of Scots. (n.d.). Retrieved from http://englishhistory.net/tudor/exmary.html
This site includes a primary source written by Robert Wynkfielde. The short account has abundant details about Mary's actions and attitude at her execution.
Belloc, H. (1934). A shorter history of England. (pp. 291-328). New York, NY: The Macmillan Company.
A Shorter History of England provides thorough information on the political situation behind Mary's execution, as well as several pages concerning her life, beginning with her return to Scotland, which illustrate the Protestant and Catholic tensions at the time. It also describes the Bond of Association and the Babington Plot in great detail. Cecil is credited with the public execution of the Queen of Scots, which was not mentioned in less-detailed sources such as those retrieved from the SIRS database. The discussion of Mary's involvement in the Babington Plot could be viewed as somewhat biased against the possibility that she was truly attempting to overthrow Elizabeth.
